ZombieErnie tagged me to do this and I thought it's super interesting! I may even tag some of you for this cause these are questions I usually ask myself when looking at people's work here on dA.

1) please re-post the rules and questions!
2) answer at least 5 of the questions!
3) tag as many people as you know, there is no limit! (just tag someone QwQ)

Questions for the artist:
1) why do you draw/paint?
2) what do you draw/paint, and why?
3) how long have you been creating art, and what sparked your passion?
4) what forms of art block do you usually get?
5) what causes your art block? how do you try to break the block?
6) what/how do you wish you could draw/paint, other than what you draw/paint now?
7) who are the artists that inspire you, and why?
8) do you like drawing for others, or just yourself? or both?
9) do you like the artistic style that you have created? why or why not?
10) small challenge! post a "then and now" picture! an artwork that you created in the beginning of your artistic journey compared to how you draw now!

1) why do you draw/paint?
mostly because it’s fun!
then again, I want to bring my ideas to ‚life‘ … make people able to look at what’s going on in my head and to illustrate my ideas.

2) what do you draw/paint, and why?
almost every piece in my gallery is fanart. movies, comic and games usually inspire me to draw and I’m trying to show my love for said medium by drawing fanart.

3) how long have you been creating art, and what sparked your passion?
drawing has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. sure, the things I drew when I was about 3 or 4 years old couldn’t really be called art but that’s when I must’ve started to draw almost daily.
my ‚professional‘ art journey started some time in middle school when I met DANKW0RTH !! I began to figure out that I wanted drawing to not only be my hobby but my job.

4) what forms of art block do you usually get?
there’s times where I just don’t feel like drawing, so I don’t.
then there’s days where I’m full of ideas but can’t bring a single one to paper. that’s the more frustrating form of an art block, I guess.

5) what causes your art block? how do you try to break the block?
stress, mostly. if there’s a lot of stuff going on in my head I can’t focus on doing art. I get distracted, lose interest etc.
I figured out the best way of breaking an art block is either not drawing for a few days or looking at other artists work. for me most inspiration comes from art styles that are sketchy, messy and very colorful. it’s like the art keeps saying „yo, you don’t need those clean lines you’re struggling to draw! you can do whatever you want and still call it art!“
trying out new things usually helps making the art block go away!

6) what/how do you wish you could draw/paint, other than what you draw/paint now?
I wish I’d be able to GO CRAZY on characters and have a better understanding for colors and backgrounds. to break out of my style more often. to do all the cartoony freak-show stuff I like to see in other people’s style!
also, I kinda lack at traditional art skills … I need to focus on that more!!

7) who are the artists that inspire you, and why?
• Anissa Espinosa’s traditional art gives me life!
• Jemma Salume is doing magic on colors and shapes!
• my friend Bee - have you seen her art?? those lines are the smoothest I’ve every layed my eyes on!
• Nick Bear … I recently discovered him and fell in love with the BGs he’s painting!
• misterhope does simple and funny traditional art you must check out

8) do you like drawing for others, or just yourself? or both?
drawing for others usually has me telling myself that actual people like my art so much, they want a piece of it.
I mean, how cool is that?!
on the other hand … you really don’t want to fuck up when you’re doing art for friends/customers. it can get pretty stressful at times.

9) do you like the artistic style that you have created? why or why not?
I do like where my style is going. it’s developed A LOT within the last few years and I’m proud of where I am now.
but that doesn’t mean I’m done! there’s so much more I have to learn/I want to learn!

10) small challenge! post a "then and now" picture! an artwork that you created in the beginning of your artistic journey compared to how you draw now!
this should be very interesting! here's some art from 2008, 2011 and 2015 ...

I also learned how to draw full body pictures ... sadly I didn't pick any of those for this little showcase.

Here we go again. I feel like the last review was written only yesterday. Where the hell did 2015 go?!

There was SO MUCH GOING ON in 2015 for me that the whole year passed in just a blink of the eye! it's crazy!
I'll give you a quick review of what's happened in the past 12 months: starting off with spending the holidays animating full-time to get my 6th semester short film done ... saying goodbye to my sweet baby cat in February ... desperately trying to find a topic for my thesis film ... finding an actual topic and working on millions of scripts ... going to my first ever Prodigy concert w/ DANKW0RTH and having so many beer showers I lost count ... meeting THE KING OF SWING and going to a WWElive show right after (did this really happen I still can't believe it??!?!) ... more script work for the thesis film ... a trip to the Annecy Film Festival in France (!) ... getting a new kitten named baby Skadi that is the sweetest but most pain-in-the-ass child in the world ... starting to build the set for my thesis film (you should check out our production blog) ... summer holidays at the baltic including family visits and an amazing Sunrise Avenue concert that made me fall in love with these crazy Finns all over again ... moving in with my film partner (which has been the greatest choice I made in a long time) ... back to work at the stop motion set and teaming up with a production company ... WAFFLE TIME ... two Itchy Poopzkid concerts in two weeks (including meeting the boys after their show!!) ... meeting up with my good good friends Nea and Frosty in Berlin ... getting a double waffle iron ... spending all day at school, working and living on waffles and the scent of glue (this can't be healthy)

I bet I forgot a few more amazing things that happened but all in all that's it. A LOT OF ACTION going on and I'm excited for what 2016 will bring!
looking back at what I've done this year I think I grew as an artist and as a person. at least I know that what I'm doing right now is what I want to do for a living. that this is the right way!

I also want to thank all of you for your support!
You're here for me, you encourage me and even when I don't have much time on my hand to talk to you/draw for you (especially in the past few months) you're still around. THANK YOU! <3

Journal Entry: Thu Dec 3, 2015, 5:15 AM
I updated my commission price list and added BUST commissions (which are basically 5 $/€ less than the usual commission price).
you can find the info sheet here >> COMMISSION INFO AND PRICES <<

Christmas is right around the corner so you might be looking for a nicely drawn gift?
I'mmmmm juuuuuust sayin' ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

[btw, I hope you all are having a good time. sorry for not updating my gallery recently. no time. much school. I'm a bit more active on twitter though ... uploading small doodles and stuff like that :>]

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 27, 2015, 12:55 AM

I spent the last weekend at Berlin, having a blast meeting old friends and finding new ones.
I was so glad to finally meet up with my girl neessaa-Torres and frostisass cause we've known each other for so many years now. it was just amazing and I'm glad it all worked out and we could spend some time together! thank you for this you two <3

I'm still taking commissions and doing custom stickers, guys!

thanks for your attention <3

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 9, 2015, 1:16 AM
as you might have noticed through my latest poll I thought about changing my commission prices. it's not an easy thing to do for me and I was overthinking it over and over again but on the other hand I have to adjust the prices so I can halfway pay my rent, for school and food. right now I'm spending 8 - 10 hours at school daily, working on my thesis film. it's time consuming but still lots of fun. the rest of the time I'm trying to draw and to have at least a little income I'm doing that for money.

so, here's my updated price list:

as an example, a drawing like this would be $85
(commissioned pieces are usually full-body)

• 2 characters; lineart; shading; simple background

AmbreignsReunion by tattiOsala

a piece like this would be worth $68
(once again, commissions are full-body unless I'm told otherwise)

• 1 realistic character; lineless; more elaborated background

CharliePrinceisFire by tattiOsala

BIG THANK YOU to everyone who already commissioned me!!
• these prices will apply for new commission requests only! the ones I received until now (but are still not finished) will remain at the same price you requested them as. changing the price mid-commission would be super unfair : /

Journal Entry: Wed Sep 30, 2015, 3:45 AM
... that I'm still taking commissions!

big thank you to everyone who's commissioned me yet!
it's been a whole lot of fun and the money helped me out big time!

hey you guys! how's it going?

as you sure know I'm still taking commissions and I'll keep them open for quite some time. no slots, no boundaries!
(commission info can be found on my profile. there's stickers and drawings of any kind!)
I'm trying to make a living from what I draw besides working on my thesis film.

speaking of which, we made a few updates on our production blog and if you're interested in looking behind the scens of a stop-motion set, here's your chance to do it! we're posting pictures and lots of production details. you can find our blog here!

okay now, what else ... baby Skadi is growing nicely but we have to take her to the vet every other week. she's been the smallest of the litter and seems to have some parasite which affects her digestion. she wants to go outside and play in our garden but we can't let her cause she still has some important jabs ahead of her. the vet won't vaccinate her because of her small body size .... ughhhhhh ... but apart from that she's a happy little kitten, hunting flies and the older cat, playing and whining when you pick her up :'DDD

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 3, 2015, 11:41 PM
as you might have noticed, I returned from holiday at the beginning of the week. it's been a thrill. I love going to northern Germany. the weather had been a lot better than down here in the south! wind and rain and cooler temperatures, awww yessss :'D

during my trip to the baltic I collected a huuuuge amount of rocks and shells, crab remains and other stuff you could find at the beach. I'm planning to use those items as decoration for the set of my thesis film. if you wanna find out a little more about it, here's the link to our production blog:

we also went swimming in the sea and it's so different from going to the local pond or sth. it's just so much more exciting!
ALSO! one of the most important things! I went to see Sunrise Avenue live after years of not being at any of their shows. if you've been following me from the start you might know that I'm CRAZY about those finns! even if I don't check on every step they make now, I'm still a huge fan and the boys mean a lot to me. Seeing them live was kinda like going back in time and since last tuesday I'm a mess and can't think of anything but Sunrise Ave :'DDD
man, I'm having a hard time thinking of how long this band has been in my life ... 8 years ago it all started and it still feels like yesterday when I discovered them and went to my first concert.

I'd share pics of the show but sadly most of them turned out super blurry due to crappy phone cameras and bad lighting conditions. insead, have some other holiday pictures I took at the beach!…

now that I'm back I'll be working on new commissions! so if you're interested, please contact me.
you can find info about commissions and custom stickers on my profile (:

hope you're having a good time, everyone!

... for a week or so.
I'll be meeting up with my bro and dad and his wife and we'll spend the next week at the Baltic Sea.
I haven't been there for a while and I love the area up there. it's cold and windy and lots of fun!

we're also going to spend some time in the city of Hamburg. my dad and I got tickets for Sunrise Avenue (haven't seen those guys live for years!)
so, there's a lot of stuff coming up. I'm taking my sketchpad with me so I can maybe work on some sticker commissions while I'm away! (:
if I don't get the chance to draw I'll be working on your commissions when I'm back and finish them asap!!

hope you all are havin a great time,
take care!

I was meaning to write a huuuuge journal about how adventorous the last weeks of june were for me but I simply forgot about it/felt too lazy to do it.

First things first, about two weeks ago I went to the annual Film Festival in Annecy. it was the firt time I've been there and it was amaaazing! my friends and I stayed at a campsite and had quite a tough way down to the actualy festival area (1,5km super steep and tiny roads ... some parts weren't even actual roads, haha. walking that by foot late at night can be pretty scary).
but apart from that the festival was just so much fun! I saw so many short films, I thought my brain would explode. some were really good, others were rather weird but alltogether I enjoyed watching a lot of different styles and nationalities come together (:
and we also had time to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Annecy. I'll give you an impression of how it looked like cause it's hard to find the right words!

Pano 20150617 125921418 by tattiOsala

we also made a lot of friends from all over the world at the festival and the campsite. so all in all I'm really glad I attended the festival and going there really encouraged me to do better on my own films and submit them to festivals like Annecy!

and speaking of making friends!
if you follow my twitter/tumblr/facebook you probably already know the newest member of our family :'D

skadi1 by tattiOsala skadi2 by tattiOsala

this here is Skadi and she's so small, she fits in my goddamn hand. I can't get over how small she is!! we took her home this saturday evening and even though we got her from a farm she's nothing like our old cats were when they were just kittens.
she likes everything and everyone. she wants to be touched and carried around, climbs on your shoulders and sleeps cuddled up into your neck.
our old cat still is a little afraid of her (yes, her tiny body must be frightening!) but when they first saw each other nobody got hurt or started hissing or growling. I think they'll be getting along sooner or later. our plan was to get a kitten to have a new friend for our old cat (she's been pretty bored and lonely since her brother died) so I'm excited how things turn out and to see them all cuddled up and playing one day! :'D

aannnnnd ... that's it for now I guess!
school, some freelance work and the kitten, of course, is keeping me busy but that doesn't mean I'm not producing art anymore! I guess a new sketchdump is just around the corner (all that's missing is me putting it together, haha)

hope you're having a good time-

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 11, 2015, 11:53 AM
finally! a journal entry that isn't the "10 things about me" thing but an actualy update on my life!

I think some of you know that I've been working on an animated short film since fall last year. my team and I made up a story, designed the characters and backgrounds we needed and began animating in January this year. it took the three of us about 2,5 months to get all the animation and editing done and we had great support with the sounddesign and music.
I'm really proud of what we created in such a short amount of time (alright, alright, we've been working on this for a whole semester but that's a pretty short time span for a 5-minute-long animated short). it's been so much fun to work on this project and now that our short film is done and ready to be presented at our school's annual film festival I thought I'd share the trailer with you! enjoy-

we also made a Facebook page for our film so if you wanna keep an eye on the project feel free to like the site, we appreciate it!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

another thing I wanted to say is a big THANK YOU! to all of you who talked to me and sent me encouraging messages when I lost one of my cats about two months ago. I may not have answered your comments immediately or wrote a reply at all but I read every single message I got and I am really really thankful for having so many nice and caring people around me. some of your words made me laugh, some made me cry but I loved reading all of them!
my cat was like a little brother for me (he literally meant as much to me as my real brother) and I still miss the little fella a lot every single day.
so, big thank you to everyone for being there and listening to me!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

more updates! I'll be seeing The Prodigy live tomorrow night! isn't that awesome?!
Schnaut and I got tickets and we're so happy we're finally going to one of our favorite band's show BEFORE THEY SPLIT OR QUIT OR WHATEVER!
and next weekend will be just as awesome because WWElive is coming to my city AND they're having a signing with the King of Swing CESARO! I still can't believe I'll be meeting the man! somebody pinch me!!!! :'DDDDD

wanna know 10 more things about me?

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 18, 2015, 3:20 AM
the wonderful SaskiaDeKorte tagged me for this and I'm eager to answer the questions!
it's so much fun since the questions change every time I'm being tagged (:

1) What is the movie adaptation of the book that you like most?

I hardly ever read and when I do it's only because I've seen the movie adaption of the book and want to get more info about the characters/story or just have another view on the whole thing. my favorite movie adaptions of books I read would be The Eagle of the Ninth and Stardust though. for The Eagle it's because I loved both, the movie and the book the same, even though they are very very different at some parts! and though I really like Neil Gaiman's work I liked the movie Stardust a lot more than his book. be it for the actors or the story itself, I don't know. the movie is just a lot more cheerful than the book :'D

2) Recall the moment when you're suddenly cracked into song and dance the night away.
that was ... someday last week.
we just finished animating the last few scenes of our short film, I was walking home, turned on my MP3 player and had a hard time not to start singing and dancing along to the music. I was just so happy and excited!

3) Like Wendy from Peter Pan, did you wish that you would never grow up? Have you changed your mind after those years of wishing like that?
I don't wanna grow up, ever!
when I was in 6th or 7th grade I couldn't wait to be an adult but right now I enjoy looking back at my childhood and mostly behave like a kid and not like a grown person. I mean, I can be serious when I have to but it's more fun to goof around (:

4) Recall the funniest scene you have ever seen on any movie/TV show.
that is one tough question! the funniest scene ever?
I watch a lot of movies and tv series and most of them are funny as hell. the last thing that really cracked me up would be the Spongebob 3D movie though!
I went to the theatre, hoping the movie wouldn't be like the newer episodes of the show (cause they're not funny, just disgusting) and I laughed till I had tears in my eyes from the first minute to the last. the best part must've been the time travel scene! just ... the drawings, the song THE SONG GUYS! I screamed so loud I scared all the little kids in the theatre :'D

5) Like Alice, have you ever wished on having a world of your own? If so, what kind?
nope, not really.

6) Recall the most embarrassing scene you have ever seen on any movie/TV show.
I- I don't remember anything embarassing. I have deleted this stuff I guess.

7) Do you still struggle on learning Mathematics?
uhuhuhu. well, I'm not learning anymore but keeping the stuff I once learned is getting harder every day.

8) What is the last song that currently stuck on your head?
Dancing on the Sun - Itchy Poopzkid

9) If you could change any character flaw you have, what would be and why?
be more confident around people. start talking about random shit and don't think 'oh no, what if they think I'm stupid?'
yes, that would be great. it sometimes works. sometimes.

10) Do you believe in classic mythology?
believing ... not really. I like all kinds of mythology like greek, egyptian and also the northern gods but I wouldn't say I believe in these gods.

1. If you could get a hug from anyone in the world who would it be?
Parker Schnabel or Rick Ness. okay no, just Parker cause I'd faint if I got close to Rick. he's so huge D':

2. What Hogwarts house are you in?
if I could choose I'd take Slytherin but idk

3. Are you a procrastinator?
I'll answer this question later ...

4. Do you like scary amusement park rides?
scary like in super high or super fast or like super scary hounted houses?
I like all of them but my body doesn't wanna do the fast and spinning rides anymore. I get sick a lot more often than I'd like to.

5. Would you rather be stuck in an elevator with your favourite band member or go to their concert?
stuck in an elevator cause we could talk about things.
imagine being stuck in an elevator with Gerard Way! we could talk about comics and stuff for hours!
(if I had the confidence to start talking in the first place, haha)

6. What's something that's famous about where you're from?
Weißwurscht and Lederhosen :'DDDD

7. Do you prefer beaches or gardens?
Beaches. I hardly get the chance to go to one so it's a pretty special place.

8. If you could live in another time period, which one would you live in?
I'd love to go back to early 19th century america, the wild west!
and then I'd die in my 20s or earlier because there's no proper medicine or anything, haha.

9. Who would play you if they were going to make a movie about your life?
Leonardo DiCaprio and he'll get an Oscar for his role.

10. If you could be the queen of any country, what country would you pick, and would you like to do it?
I wouldn't wanna be a queen. I don't wanna rule a country cause that requires me to be a responsable person and that I am not!

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 22, 2015, 3:25 AM
alright now, Oly-RRR tagged me for this '5 things + 10 questions' thing and though I probably did this a million times already it never gets boring cause the questions change every time and it's so much fun to do! (like the times before I won't tag anyone or make up questions, yes, I'm a party pooper)

so! here's the 5 things about me!

- the one thing I regret doing this year is putting all my drawing tools in and old Toffifee box (which has the perfect size for all my pens) cause everytime I look at it I'm like "yaay! I got candy!" and when I open it I remember that it's only pens in there and get very disappointed )':

- I love meat

- this semester I wanted to walk to college instead of getting a pretty expensive subway-ticket and I'm srsly doing it and it's fun?!??! (like, I will walk 500 miles and I will walk 500 more!!!)

- I'm a huge crybaby when it comes to movies and made up stories but I'm almost like a stone when I hear about real life tragedy. that's weird.

- burps and farts and people falling or just generally acting pretty stupid make me laugh (including myself. I laugh about myself a lot)

and here are Oly-RRR's questions!

1. What's the weirdest thing you ever did in an art class (any art class, from preschool to college or university)?
well that's not exactly what I did but I once got put headfirst into a trash can in an afternoon art class cause I was in 5th grade and the older guys were in 8th or so and I was easy to lift :'DDD

2. Dragons or dinosaurs?
dinosaurs! always!

3. Have you ever kept a diary?
I used to write one but only for a few weeks until I forgot about it. I then lost the book and found it two years later, tried to keep writing every day but didn't manage to do so. I'm not made for keeping diary :'D

4. Can you ride a bicycle? If so, do you enjoy it and how often do you do it?
I can! and learning it was the funniest thing ever! (I cried a lot and fell on my face and hands and my relatives laughed at me and I was so angry but looking back at it it was hilarious!) I really enjoy riding my bike but I haven't done it for at least a year ):

5. Do you remember the first time you came up with a character or any fictional story? Tell me about it!
touuuugh question! I really don't remember what my first made up character was! I should look through my old drawings to find one. I remember making up some really colorful Emo dude characters in middle school but they didn't really have a backstory. they were just ... hanging out, one of them was a musician and one was pretty small and one had red hair.

6. Do you think it would be bad to be a brain in a jar dreaming that you're living a life as a human if you had no way to find out you're actually a brain in a jar?
well I'd have a pretty good life dreaming I'd be a human being and never finding out I was actually just a brain in a jar. also, I could dream about anything and make it happen, right?

7. What does your favourite tea/coffee mug look like?
my favorite mugs are the ones DANKW0RTH gave to me. one has our OCs on it, one looks like Sniper's #1 mug (from TF2) and I got a really nice FC Barcelona mug I love to use!!
and do glasses count aswell? cause I got these huge ass-kickin STAR TREK glasses from Burger King and they're really dear to me. the day one of them breaks my heart will shatter with it.

8. Tell me about your art/writing plans for the next few months! Or if you don't have any plans, just anything you want to draw?
produce more Hobbit-themed art, like Bard and Thranduil, Bilbo in a nice and dwarf-queen-like dress, more Dwori
then I'll have to work on an animated movie for school (deadline is someday in march)
and I need to finish these Hobbit sketchcards I started last week!

9. Rain or snow?
snow! always the snow!

10. Anyone you remember from your preschool or primary school?
I actually remember a lot of people from pre- and primary school! we were all pretty close and I often wonder what most of them are doing now since I didn't talk to them/saw them since I left primary school!

11. This is incredibly selfish (and so optional) but tell me something relevant to Cop Story - from a doodle prompt to an observation to anything, really!
omg, I can't even come up with good drawing prompts myself! maybe ... draw some of the characters on a ship, like a cruise or sth and I bet at least one of them will get sick from all the shaking and stuff :'D

I can't believe 2014's over already! it went by so fast but looking back at it so many amazing things happened! for me 2014 started off pretty stressful because not only did I have to get a short film done, I also had to find a company where I wanted to serve my internship at!
gladly everything turned out great, despite all the last-minute decisions I had to make. The film got done and received some great reviews, I found an internship position and a place to live for the summer, moved to said place in Cologne and started working at the animation studio I picked out. at first it was strange to be so far away from home (the journey from my hometown to Cologne takes about 8 hours) but I didn't even have time to feel homesick or sad.

a lot of people were there to help me in this time and I'm really glad to have so many friends who got my back and support me the way they do! most of all yuminica and her family! we've been in contact over dA for about five years and my internship gave us the chance to meet up and spend almost every weekend of the summer together! I'm still so thankful for your hospitality and the fun we had together! thanks to you Cologne got more like a 2nd home than I could ever imagine! <3

I'm also thankful for all my nice colleagues and friends at my internship at Trickstudio Lutterbeck! I learned so many things, not only about animation, but also about how a studio like this functions and about working together as a team. I think I should've been a little more confident and talked to people in the first month but apart from that I've had the greatest summer ever and I enjoyed every second of it!

living in Cologne for these 6 months also gave me the chance to do things I probably wouldn't have done if I was still at home in Bavaria (because there's literally nothing big going on in my hometown :'D)
I went to a WWElive show in Rotterdam (which was also my first ever all alone trip to the Netherlands), had the chance to meet up with SgtRumpel and be part of his Âlendia reading (and duuude it was so much fun!), then another trip to the Netherlands to visit nienkiepinkie and spend an amazing weekend with her and her family! (srsly, I'm so glad we became friends and had such great time!) and GamesCom of course! I bet this year's convention was one of the best I've ever been to : D

with so many amazing things happening the whole summer the last few months of 2014 seem a little dull but I still enjoyed them! I went back to college after my internship was done (yeah, lots of tears were shed and I still miss working there every day )': ) but being involved in a new animation project for school soon cheered me up and I went to another WWElive show with my brother and dad, spent some long due weekends with DANKW0RTH and recently payed Cologne another visit to join the Christmas party at my former internship place and spend time with Yuminica.

so, lots of fun, adventures and new stuff happened this year!
I hope your 2014 has been as colorful as mine (I guess that's the right word to describe all the things I experienced this year!)
